State Rep. Morrow: Why Pell Grant cuts could be tough on Minnesota

"Cutting Pell Grants is a double whammy for Minnesotans. Fewer Pell Grant dollars for students means Minnesota’s State Grant Program, which helps students afford college, has to spend more to meet student need, which in turn limits the number of students who receive state grants or the amount that many may receive."

-- State Rep. Terry Morrow (DFL-St. Peter) in a St. Cloud Times commentary on why Pell Grant cuts -- which Morrow says were supported in a recent letter by Rep. John Kline (R-MN) and signed the GOP -- are a bad idea.
