UMN president Kaler chats up the chamber

University of Minnesota president Eric Kaler will make an appearance Tuesday at the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber officials say Kaler will be on hand for "a discussion about the vital role of the University in advancing regional business".

In his inauguration speech last week, Kaler called for greater cooperation between the university and Minnesota businesses.

A few days earlier Steven Rosenstone,  Kaler's counterpart at the Minneapolis State Colleges and Universities system, made a similar call for closer partnerships between MnSCU colleges and the business world.

Kaler's speech is scheduled for 12pm at the Minneapolis Hilton, with a question and answer session to follow.
