South Central College to state: Work out a fair funding system

“We wouldn’t have mechatronics if we relied on state funding.”

South Central College President Keith Stover on how the college relied on local industry to get its successful program — in which practically all graduates go job offers last year — off the ground.

Stover and other local officials recently complained at a town hall meeting that even though Mankato is a state leader in developing partnerships between business and education, it doesn’t get enough state funding to help out, The Free Press of Mankato reports.
