South Central College to state: Work out a fair funding system

“We wouldn’t have mechatronics if we relied on state funding.”

-- South Central College President Keith Stover on how the college relied on local industry to get its successful program -- in which practically all graduates go job offers last year -- off the ground.

Stover and other local officials recently complained at a town hall meeting that even though Mankato is a state leader in developing partnerships between business and education, it doesn't get enough state funding to help out, The Free Press of Mankato reports.
