Suburban College Nation's First To Ask Applicants If They're LGBT Elmhurst College this week released a new undergraduate application that includes a reportedly historic question: "Would you consider yourself to be a member of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered) community?" The question is the first of its kind according to Campus Pride, a national advocacy group working to foster more LGBT-inclusive college settings. Study: Hispanics now outnumber blacks in college A study released today by the Pew Hispanic Center finds that enrollment of Hispanic students aged 18 to 24 rose by 24 percent in a single year, reaching 1.8 million in October 2010. (The Washington Post)

Georgia Profs Offer Course To Undocumented Immigrants As college students return to campus in Georgia, a new state policy has closed the doors of the five most competitive state schools to illegal immigrants, but a group of professors has found a way to offer those students a taste of what they've been denied.
