So physicians from the University of Minnesota’s Academic Heath Center have been telling the House higher ed committee today about the U’s heart and psychiatry programs. The doctors hold up a real heart or brain to illustrate the points they’re making about research. Quite compelling.
At the end of their spiel, Rep. Tom Rukavina (D-Virginia) asks the doctors:
Now … a DFL heart is bigger than a Republican heart, isn’t it?
C’mon, be honest now!
The chuckles die down, and then Rep. Mike Benson (R-Rochester) shoots back:
But the Republican brain is bigger.
