(Update) U of Minnesota has 11 students in Japan

Got this from the University of Minnesota system, which has 10 from the Twin Cities campus in Japan and one from Duluth.

It's unclear what the status of the students is:

Update: U of M spokesman Ryan Maus says all 11 are safe.

"The University of Minnesota ... is working to account for and provide any needed assistance to all U of M students, staff and faculty who may have been impacted by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Currently, we are aware of 11 students from across our five campuses in Japan for University purposes. Faculty and staff numbers are not confirmed at this time, but any needed assistance is being coordinated in partnership with corresponding colleges and units.

The University is also providing support to students and scholars from Japan who are in Minnesota during this difficult time in their homeland."
