When fan can’t go to concert, concert goes to her hospice room

Here’s your daily dose of sweetness:

Karinya Chen, 15, had tickets to last Thursday’s Florence and the Machine concert in Austin, Texas. But she was too sick to go. She has cancer and things have been pretty tough.

So Florence Welch and guitarist Rob Ackroyd showed up at Hospice Austin to play and sing for her.

“As a cancer patient, you get a lot of opportunities that most people don’t so you need to cherish them,” Karinya says, “You learn not to take them for granted because you never know which day is going to be your last.”

The band’s tour makes a St. Paul stop a week from Thursday.
