A new online ad for toilet paper — toilet paper! — feels like a revolutionary acknowledgement that society has changed. The Cleavers are dead.
First, of course, it plays to the graying of America with a story about grandparents. Second, it’s based around their son being hauled off to jail.
The idea came from members of an ad agency who know people who were raised by grandparents, Ad Age says.
It follows a similar ad for Father’s Day that featured single mothers.
