Stevie Wonder’s Sunday hymn thrills north Mpls. church

Stevie Wonder brought his big tour to the Twin Cities Sunday night. But it was a smaller performance at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church Sunday morning in north Minneapolis that stole the show.

The church has provided this video.

The Rev. Jerry McAfee knows Wonder and extended an invitation to the Sunday service, the Associated Press reported. Church members cheered when Wonder rose to sing a favorite hymn, “I Won’t Complain.”

The AP also noted that toward the end of the service there was another surprise. Wonder said he would donate $10,000 to the church.
