When politicians show passion

This video of Sen. David Norris of Dublin is starting to burn up the Internet today.

“Israel’s policy is shoot first and weep afterwards,” Norris, a human rights activist, said in the Seanad Éireann.

His views, of course, are debatable, and that’s the point: there was a debate. When’s the last time you watched a floor speech with any passion in the U.S. Congress on any subject?

    They happen routinely in Minnesota. Usually when you’re not expecting them.
