Lake Superior ice in 60 seconds

At one point during the winter, we wondered whether all of the ice would ever leave Lake Superior. About 10 percent of the lake is still covered with ice, but the Coast Guard has ended its ice-breaking operations for the year. According to sources, summer is coming.

Lake Superior Magazine has put together a time-lapse of the year in ice.

Funny coincidence that you should post about the lake’s ice today. I received a text message from my brother with a picture of my sister-in-law standing on the shore of Lake Superior while pointing at the snow and ice that’s still on the shore. They went up there to go camping for a few days.
