Super Bowl rivalry is a battle for air supremacy

Every sports team declares its fans to be “the best,” but Seattle has upped the ante today.

The “12th man” is a rallying cry for the team this season, a tribute to the fans who support the Seahawks, who’ll play in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Today, the Boeing Company rolled out a 747 freighter jet, painted in the team colors.

And then filed this flight plan with the FAA for a journey this afternoon…

You can follow the flight here.

That would appear to jump Seattle to the lead in the aviation-themed lead-up to the Super Bowl.

In recognition of Denver Bronco quarterback Peyton Manning’s trademark hollering of “Omaha!” to signify a play when he brings his team to the line of scrimmage, the Denver airport has been adjusting its signage.

I am an Eric Decker fan. However, if the Boeing Company would donate to a charity an amount of money equal to the expenses incurred for the plane decoration and the cost of the flight, I would be willing to cheer for the Seahawks.

Maybe I’m just reading you wrong – if so, I’m sorry. Boeing may have been running a test flight for a plane that just came off the line. So the flight would have happened either way – no reason, not to get creative.
As for the team livery, who knows – maybe Boeing needs another plane to shuttle parts to its many plants around the country.

    Wouldn’t that be team livery?

    Cool. Pretty precise flying.
