Demand for workers down again

Minnesota saw another decline in online job postings in May.

According to the research group The Conference Board, there were 111,300 online ads for positions in Minnesota last month. That's down by 1,800 from April.

The Help Wanted Online Data Series suggests demand for labor has been weakening in Minnesota and nationally since last January.

Nationally, vacancies advertised online fell by 150,200, or 3 percent, in May.

Minnesota still has a relatively strong labor market. There are 14 unemployed people for every 10 open positions. Nationally there are 23 jobless people per 10 openings.
