Barry Eisler, John LeCarre and other spy masters

Kerri Miller and I discussed our book picks today. Well, actually I mentioned an article that grabbed my attention since I am still reading A World on Fire. I will be reading it for a few weeks.

Kerri received this email from a listener last week:

Kerri,

I heard you mention that you like spy novels. Me, too! Would you share some of your favorites?

Kerri mentioned Alan Furst, John LeCarre and Barry Eisler (I think she swooned a little when she mentioned Eisler’s John Rain.) What spy novels do you love?

Book pick bonus: Our guest Eloisa James says she is reading the scripts to the Rowan Atkinson TV show Black Adder.

Daniel Silva is my favorite author! I love the characters he creates, the way he is able to really make you feel like you are in the location his story is set, the way he incorporates the arts into his novels, and also the way he takes history and/or modern problems and builds a story around them.

I’ve never read him but have seen his books a million times. Sounds like I should pick one up.
