Heads-up on Twin Cities weekend road closures

Drivers are heading into a busy weekend of road work across the Twin Cities metro. Here's a look at the Minnesota Department of Transportation projects that might cause you problems.

I35W / I35E

MnDOT says northbound Interstate 35W between the Interstate 35 split and Highway 13 in Burnsville is closing this weekend, starting at 10 p.m. tonight. Crews are painting bridges over the freeway. Traffic is being re-routed onto Interstate 35E, Cedar Avenue and I-494. Southbound Interstate 35 is single lane between the split in Burnsville and County Road 50.

U.S. Highway 169

A final weekend closure on U.S. Highway 169 between Brooklyn Park and Golden Valley is also scheduled to close tonight. The southbound lanes will be closed for the weekend starting at 9 p.m. tonight. Highway 169 remains single lane in either direction near the Bloomington Ferry Bridge.

Highway 10

Highway 10 in Anoka is down to a single lane in both directions near the Rum River.

Stillwater

Utility work will close 56th Street in Stillwater, a connection between state highways 36 and 95. MnDOT says the posted detour may be difficult for trucks to navigate.
