Twin Cities home prices: Check the numbers

As Annie Baxter reported this morning, the latest Case/Schiller numbers “provide further evidence of improvements in the Twin Cities housing market. Metro home prices in April were up 15 percent from the same month last year. That was the Twin Cities’ largest year-over-year spike recorded in the index.”

Here’s how the national numbers, which include the Twin Cities, plot on a graph. Chart by MPR News reporter Marty Moylan.

The S&P/Case-Shiller indices measure changes in the total value of existing single-family homes in 20 major metro markets. The Indices have a base value of 100 on January 2000.
