Jonas Brothers to visit Minneapolis high school

About 600 students at Patrick Henry High School will get a glimpse of some celebrities today. Actress Mia Farrow and the Jonas Brothers will be on hand to help launch an international charity's new education program that includes a big youth rally in Minneapolis in October.

Today's event at Patrick Henry High School is aimed at making a bit of a media splash, but will it be a hit among the students?

Mia Farrow hasn't exactly been in many hit teen flicks (the 67-year-old has appeared in a dozen Woody Allen movies, among others). The Jonas Brothers have been touring since 2005, and lately have been working on solo albums. I haven't found any scheduled concerts in the U.S. so far this year. (Die hard fans can catch a flight to Latin America for their tour there. Tickets are still available.)

I'll be curious to read or watch from today's coverage whether the gym at Patrick Henry High School is filled with the screams heard at Jonas Brothers concerts over the years.

The youth rally planned for Oct. 8 at the Xcel Energy Center is part of a longer program from the charity, Free the Children, that encourages kids to get involved with local and global causes.
