Not-so-thrill rides for kids, Part III

First, it was the Edina woman charged with child endangerment for allegedly driving her nephew home in the trunk of her Lexus, because he'd been at the waterpark at Valleyfair and she didn't want her leather seats to get wet.

Then came the motorcyclist stopped after police saw him with his two children, ages 3 and 5, clinging to his bike, without wearing helmets.

And in case you thought they were aberrations, the Department of Public Safety's Office of Traffic Safety is marking the occasion of Child Passenger Safety Week with this humdinger, from 2009. It looks like it was taken from the dashcam of the local constabulary on Highway 10 up in Ramsey. The Department of Public Safety says the kids were 10, 7 and 5.

"I tell you right now, the trooper I talked to, he was going to come up here and take you to jail," the citing officer says on the tape.
