Two men charged for allegedly stealing $24K at the Minnesota State Fair
Prosecutors say two men broke into an employee safe at the Minnesota State Fair this weekend and stole about $24,000.
A surveillance video captured the pair entering the French Meadow Building at 10:29 p.m. Saturday. According to a criminal complaint, Eric Massey and Robert Love then entered a back room and broke into a safe that contained about $24,000 from two days of sales at the state fair.
Prosecutors charged Massey and Love with first-degree burglary in connection with the alleged incident.
The complaint says:
Massey initially denied being at the 2012 State Fair. When advised that there was evidence to the contrary, Massey's demeanor immediately changed and he expressed surprise. Officers showed Massey a still photograph of himself inside the French Meadow Bakery building. Massey admitted he and Love were inside various buildings but he claimed to not know why they did so.
Police officers executed a search warrant at Massey's apartment and found $9,368 in cash.
