Daily Digest: Dayton, NAACP meet

Good Monday morning! Here’s the digest:

1. Gov. Mark Dayton and other local leaders met privately Sunday with NAACP national president Cornell Brooks in response to the shooting of Philando Castile. Afterwards, Brooks called for more police oversight and reforms. (MPR News)

2. President Obama will visit Dallas Tuesday and attend a memorial service for the police officers killed there last week. (Dallas Morning News)

3. The Republican Party will take care of important pre-convention business this week in Cleveland. (Politico)

4. Donald Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, has a rally planned Tuesday in Indiana, and that’s fueling speculation that Trump is set to make Gov. Mike Pence his running mate. (Indianapolis Star)

5. Bernie Sanders is expected to appear with and possibly endorse Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, during a rally Tuesday in New Hampshire. (New York Times)
