Daily Digest: Two ways out?

Good morning and welcome to Tuesday. Democrats vote today in Kentucky and Oregon.  Here's the Digest:

1. Gov. Mark Dayton offered House Republicans two options Monday for a transportation plan to try to end their ongoing standoff. One raises the tax on gasoline by five cents per gallon and one doesn't. They both raise license tab fees, but fees would be higher for the option that doesn't raise the gas tax. Both plans also include a half cent sales tax increase in the metro area to pay for transit. (MPR News)

2. A group of Minnesota Republicans who say they can't back Donald Trump want to push the state Republican Party to refuse to spend any money to support the likely GOP presidential nominee. They plan to make their proposal at the state Republican convention in Duluth this weekend. (Pioneer Press)

3. Two closely watched criminal justice measures have made big advances at the state Capitol. The Minnesota Senate voted convincingly Monday to rewrite drug sentencing laws, while the House adopted a police body camera bill setting state guidelines for their use and limitations on access to the resulting footage.(MPR News)

4. A woman who featured prominently in the New York Times story over the weekend about Donald Trump's treatment of women says she was misquoted and that her comments were taken out of context. Rowanne Brewer Lane says the Times spun her story to make it look as if Trump treated her badly when she says he did not. A statement from the New York Times says she was quoted accurately. (FOX News)

5. About those primaries in Kentucky and Oregon. Bernie Sanders has a chance to win them both. And even though Hillary Clinton will maintain a delegate lead no matter what happens today, Sanders continues to dog her. Clinton has made a strong push in recent days to block Sanders in Kentucky.
