Daily Digest: Another GOP debate

It's a Thursday morning already, and for the first time all week it doesn't hurt to walk outside. I guess this time of year you have to be thankful for the little things.

Gov. Dayton will release a plan later today to modernize the state's aging wastewater and drinking water systems. But there's not a lot of other Minnesota political news, so today's Digest focuses on national news.

1. The Republican presidential candidates meet for their first debate of 2016 tonight. There are still plenty of candidates in the race, but there will be fewer on the stage. (USA Today)

2. Ted Cruz didn't disclose a loan from Goldman Sachs during his campaign for the Senate. (New York Times)

3. On Fox News, Nikki Haley walked back some of her comments about the Republican presidential candidates. (Politico)

4. If Donald Trump is going to win in Iowa, he'll have to do it without a solid organization. (New York Times)

5. Hillary Clinton's more aggressive tactics have had at least one result: Bernie Sanders saw a jump in his fundraising. (Washington Post)
