Daily Digest: blame for the market downturn

1. A lot of people are watching the financial markets this morning to see if the sell-off continues. Some of the presidential candidates are pointing the finger of blame at China. (New York Times)

2. Under a 2014 Minnesota law railroads are supposed to make their disaster plans public. But so far it's not happening. (MPR News)

3. House Speaker Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, now says he doesn't want $2 million in upgrades for House space in the renovated state Capitol building and that the money could be used for other parts of the project. (MPR News)

4. It looks like there will be a primary on Sept. 29 as Democrats line up to run for the House District 3A seat that was held by Rep. David Dill, DFL-Crane Lake. Gov. Dayton announced Monday the special election to fill the seat will be Dec. 8. (Duluth News Tribune)

5. Jeb Bush says people should "chill out" about his use of the term "anchor baby," but he may have added to the controversy instead of tamping it down. (Washington Post)
