Honour announces campaign ad, again

Republican gubernatorial hopeful Scott Honour is announcing the launch of a campaign radio ad -- for the second time.

The ad, titled The Party Is Over, criticizes the state health insurance exchange known as MNsure and highlights Honour’s private sector business experience. This was part of the new fundraising message Honour put on his web site today along with the audio of the ad:

I’m pleased to announce that today we launched a radio ad across Minnesota! I couldn’t have done it without your support. I’ll continue to drive home the message that we need new leadership and a new approach in St. Paul. Minnesotans deserve better from their government; we shouldn’t have to pick up the tab for more wasteful spending and bad ideas from career politicians.

Back on May 1, Honour posted a nearly identical message and the same ad.

I’m pleased to announce that today we launched our first radio ad! I couldn’t have done it without your support. I’ll continue to drive home the message that we need new leadership and a new approach in St. Paul. Minnesotans deserve better from their government; we shouldn’t have to pick up the tab for more wasteful spending and bad ideas from career politicians.

Why two launches for one ad? The first announcement was for an advertising buy in just a couple of radio markets, and now the ad is running statewide, according to Honour campaign spokeswoman Valentina Weis.

Honour and three other Republicans are running in the Aug. 12 primary. The winner will face DFL incumbent Gov. Mark Dayton.
