Franken focuses on child mental health in latest ad
Just days after he was officially endorsed for a second term in the U.S. Senate, Sen. Al Franken is up with a new ad touting legislation that helps kids with mental health problems.
"Nearly 5 million children in America today struggle with a serious mental illness," the ad states. "Eighty percent never receive treatment, and that's just wrong."
Franken is referring to legislation that was included in a large spending bill passed earlier this year.
According to records filed with the Federal Communications Commission, Franken's campaign is planning to spend at least $77,000 on the ad, which will run on several Twin Cities broadcast networks.
