Nolan to get a big fundraising assist from Democrats

WASHINGTON - 8th District Rep. Rick Nolan's re-election campaign is getting some help fundraising from a Who's Who list of Minnesota Democrats next month.

Among the co-hosts of the May 13th event are Sen. Amy Klobuchar, 5th District Rep. Keith Ellison, Speaker Paul Thissen, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges, DFL chair Ken Martin and former 5th District Rep. Martin Sabo. Former Sabo chief of staff and DFL Party chair Mike Erlandson will host the event at his Minneapolis home. Donors are asked to contribute between $150 to $1,000 to Nolan's campaign.

The 8th District is likely to be the site of the most competitive House race in Minnesota this fall. Stewart Mills, Nolan's Republican challenger, has raised $660,000 and has $355,000 in the bank. Nolan has raised $797,000 and has $478,000 in cash.
