GOP’s Emmer raises $200,000 in first quarter for Minn. 6th District race
Tom Emmer, who is competing for the Republican nomination to run in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District, raised about $200,000 in the first quarter of 2014, according to his campaign.
That's on top of the roughly $625,000 Emmer raised in 2013, according to previous filings with the Federal Election Commission.
Emmer's campaign did not respond to requests for the most recent fundraising report, which details how much money Emmer has in his coffers and who his donors are.
Emmer, Phil Krinkie and Anoka County Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah are all competing for the nod to run for the 6th District seat, which is currently held by Rep. Michele Bachmann. She is not seeking re-election.
Of the three, Emmer was in the best financial position at the end of last year.
Federal candidates need to report their finances to the FEC early next week. Krinkie's campaign did not responded to requests for more information about his quarterly fundraising, and the Sivarajah campaign declined to provide the information.
