Kurt Bills presses Republicans to back Romney, not Paul

In a statement being distributed by the Republican Party of Minnesota, GOP Senate candidate Kurt Bills states, “In order to defeat Obama and his lieutenant Amy Klobuchar, Republicans of all stripes must stand together. We cannot afford to squabble, and mustn’t equivocate. We need to unite–standing on our shared principles–to win in November.”

Bills was elected as a Ron Paul delegate to the Republican National Convention, which is slated to begin Monday in Tampa, Fla. Bills is not attending the RNC so he can campaign at the Minnesota State Fair as much as possible.

His “unequivocal support for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan,” is not shared by many other Minnesota delegates, including the chair of the delegation, Marianne Stebbins, who said in an interview recently she’s looking forward to voting for Paul at the convention.

Bills won the GOP endorsement for Senate this spring with the backing of Ron Paul. The state convention was dominated by backers of Paul’s campaign for president.

Sounds like this Bills didn’t really understand what Ron Paul stands for. Ron Paul does not support perpetual war like Romney does. If Bills wants to be assured of 4 more years of foreign intervention he is better off supporting Romney. In fact, even if Romney loses, the triangulation impulse of presidents will drive Obama to be more perpetual war seeking.

Well how are we suppose to stand together when the GOP and Romney camp has done everything in its power to push the Paul people around. Stripped people of there delegates in states we out right won. Went and tempted to make it 10 states instead of 5 so Paul wouldn’t even be on the ballot. Why should we stand by that ass clown screw him and the GOP right along with the demarcates. Raise hell Paul deleagets. They never wanted us around in the first place. I won’t be voting for him. Oh and by the way what changes of Romney did win to become president?

First Bills says he won’t cut foreign aid to Israel and now this? What’s next, we’ll find out he doesn’t want to end the fed? Oh, what, he already said that, too?

He maybe a political newbie, but he flip-flops like a pro.

I am voting for Ron Paul!

  • KittenJuggler

Ron Paul put Kurt where he is. Kurt is a slimebag.

  • Simon

Well, Kurt just confirmed he’s the same as the rest of them. He was just smart enough to adopt to use the liberty bandwagon to get the nomination. He should’ve endorsed Romney before last weeks vote. Q: Would you have voted for him? A: Nope! He would’ve lost and that would’ve been very very appropriate.

I can only think of one word…traitor.

  • Joe Bodis

Do you think he may be having a liitle problem raising money for his campaign with the Paul Bearers behind him? Takes $$ to campaign state wide. Smart move.

I was at the fair today, at the Curt Bills booth signing up to volunteer when I heard a lady on the other side of the cart ask “Is it true Bills just backed Romney?”. The person working said “Yeah, it’s the right thing to do”. I literally dropped the pen, turned my back on Curt Bills & walked away.

I can’t believe I voted for him. I was so excited to have a guy like him being endorsed by the Ron Paul campaign. Needless to say I won’t be making the same mistake this November. Thanks but no thanks, Mr. Bills.

  • Gullible Ron Paul Zombies

Ron Paul zombies do not understand practical politics and so they keep slamming principled people like Kurt Bills.

Question: What did you want Bills to do? Reject Romney and torpedo his campaign?

Words or Endorsements do not mean anything, voting record does, and I have no doubt Bills will be one of the greatest Senators, and 1000 times better than communist Klobuchar.

And BTW Minnesota Public Radio’s title is deceptive – Bills did not use these words “Vote for Romney, NOT PAUL” but MPR just injected the “not paul” part and the Paul zombies just came out of the woodwork.

I am 100% certain Bills had consulted with Ron Paul before getting behind Romney, just as Rand Paul did.

Paul’s gullible supporters should learn these tactics, if they want to win.
