Kline weighs in on Bachmann’s Muslim Brotherhood allegations

Two more prominent Minnesota Republicans have weighed in on Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann's calls for investigations into whether Islamic fundamentalists have infiltrated high levels of U.S. government.

Congressman John Kline said today that he thinks Bachmann "stepped a little bit over the line" when she named individuals. But Kline did not question Bachmann's intent.

"I don't think any of us doubt that Mrs. Bachmann is concerned about national security, and she was reaching out to do something about that," Kline said.

Kline answered a reporter's question about Bachmann during a conference call aimed at criticizing the economic policies of the Obama administration.

Former U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman, another conference call participant, also answered the question and agreed with Kline. Coleman said he has "deep concerns when individuals are singled out."

"There's a better way to do that," Coleman said.

Coleman added that he previously worked with the state department employee who Bachmann had singled out.
