The Ads of August: more attacks on Cravaack

WASHINGTON - Democratic-affiliated outside groups are once again airing ads in opposition to freshman GOP Rep. Chip Cravaack.

The House Majority PAC, which can receive unlimited contributions from anonymous donors, says the ads against Cravaack are part of a "six-figure" campaign on cable television that also includes ads directed against fellow Republican Reps. Tim Griffin of Arkansas and Scott Tipton of Colorado.

The group didn't respond to inquiries about the content of the ads against Cravaack. Past ads by Democratic-aligned groups have criticized the 8th District lawmaker for his votes on the House Republican budget road map, which would transform Medicare from a government insurance program into one that provides vouchers for private insurance, and whether to increase the debt ceiling, which Cravaack ultimately voted against.
