Republican Tom Emmer and Tom Horner with the Independence Party will take part in an East Metro Chamber debate tonight. Democrat Mark Dayton won't attend because he's speaking to the St. Paul and Minneapolis Labor Federations.

The next debate featuring all three candidates will be on Friday. It will focus on education.

Gov. Pawlenty, who has repeatedly ripped federal spending, decided to take $260 million in federal cash. Pawlenty's chief financial officer also announced the state will take several steps to keep the state with a positive cash flow. K12 schools, the U of M and MnSCU and corporate and sales tax refunds higher than $5,000 will be delayed.
