Today is the pre-primary fundraising deadline for candidates for statewide office, political committees and other funds. It's also the last day for candidates to raise contributions to qualify for the public subsidy. The reports are due next week.

The corporate community is effectively backing Republican Tom Emmer in the race for governor. The group, MN Forward, starts running an ad this week backing Emmer's campaign. MN Forward has received contributions from Hubbard Broadcasting, Target Corporation, Davisco Foods and Polaris.

The Minnesota Chapter of the National Organization of Women announced it's backing Democrat Matt Entenza in the race for governor.

Entenza and the other Democrats in the race, Mark Dayton and Margaret Anderson Kelliher, will square off on MPR's Midmorning on Tuesday.

Kelliher released her second TV ad on Sunday.
