The Daily Digest

MPR has another poll but the Digest felt it appropriate to lead with the mobilization of more Minnesota National Guard troops. This alert marks the largest deployment of Minnesota military forces since World War II.

The new MPR poll shows that a majority of those polled don't want public funding for a new Vikings stadium. The poll also found that voters disapprove of how lawmakers do their job.

Minnesota added 10,000 jobs in April. The state's unemployment rate dropped slightly.

DFL Sen. Satveer Chaudhary says he regrets a fishing change that upset the DNR. Republicans in the Senate filed an ethics inquiry over the matter.

Finally

Today is Eric Eskola's last day at WCCO Radio. His job as a reporter covering state politics and state government has been second to none over the past 26 years. I firmly believe he's one of the reasons Minnesota has the highest voter participation rate in the country. I wish him well and hope I can convince him to chase a white ball in the future.

Finally Finally

The Digest is taking a break until after Memorial Day. I'm working and will be posting on the blog on a regular basis. The legislative session is over and I'm spent.

Besides, my son really wants me to walk him down the block to look for school buses and airplanes.

Have a nice Memorial Day.
