The Daily Digest

There's a week until the legislative deadline to adjourn and Gov. Pawlenty and the Legislature still have deep disagreements over a budget solution. The DFL controlled Senate gave some info on their budget solution. It includes shifts, cuts and $433 million in unspecified new revenue like taxes. The Star Tribune, MPR and AP have stories.

On Friday, Pawlenty ordered state agencies to do a review of spending in case they need to delay payments. The administration backed off the shutdown talk.

Pawlenty also called on lawmakers to ratify his unallotment. The House took the vote and rejected it soundly.

Meanwhile, DFLers on the HHS conference committee say the Pawlenty Administration is reinterpreting the new GAMC law to get hospitals to sign on. They want an expansion of Medicaid instead.
