Senate votes to override GAMC veto

The Minnesota Senate voted to override Gov. Pawlenty's veto of a bill that extends General Assistance Medical Care. Democrats in the Senate had a veto proof majority. Before the vote, Pawlenty called the Senate override largely ceremonial:

"They have the votes to do it. They said they're going to do it. It doesn't really effect anything. It's the House that's the issue."

Democrats in the House are three votes short of the number needed to override. House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher said they may attempt the veto override on Monday. GOP House Minority Leader Kurt Zellers said Pawlenty's veto will be sustained.

UPDATE: DFL Representative Erin Murphy says the House will try to override Gov. Pawlenty's veto on Monday.
