House passes bill that moves party primary to August

The Minnesota House passed a bill that would move the state's party primary from September to August 126-5. Republians voting against the measure are Pat Garafolo, Morrie Lanning and Peggy Scott. Democrats voting against it were Rick Hansen and Tom Rukavina, who is running for governor. Democrats Bobby Jo Champion, Jim Davnie and Tom Huntly were absent.

The Senate already passed the bill but it's a bit different so it may need to be reconciled in a conference committee.

Governor Pawlenty says he supports the measure.
