Bonding bill deal reached on $1 billion bill

House and Senate negotiators have reached agreement on a $1 billion bonding bill earlier this morning. A spokesman for the MN Senate says the conferees approved a spreadsheet totaling $999.932 million. The agreement does not include any funding for the expansion of the the Moose Lake Sex Offender Treatment Facility but there is policy language in the bill.

I'm told the conference committee is meeting again this morning to go over "policy language" in the bill.

Here's the conference committee report.

Gov. Pawlenty, who's in Washington D.C. today, has threatened to veto the bill because it spent too much. He proposed a $685 million bill that included funding for Moose Lake but a spokesman said he may be willing to support a bill that spent $725 million.
