Kelliher raised $254k in ’09

MN House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher, a DFL candidate for governor, reports raising $254,000 in 2009. The campaign said she has $81,000 left in the bank. She gave her campaign $250.

Kelliher is the fourth Democratic candidate for governor to release fundraising figures. Matt Entenza reported on Wednesday that he raised $300,000 in 2009 (he made a $10,000 contribution and a $70,000 loan that are not included in the $300k). Entenza's camp didn't report cash on hand. Tom Rukavina reported on Monday that he raised $135,000 and has $60,000 in the bank. Paul Thissen raised $253,000, which includes a $20,000 loan. He has $85,000 in the bank.

Republican Tom Emmer raised $115,000 in 2009. The campaign didn't release cash left on hand.

Here's the Kelliher release:

In just four and one-half months, Margaret Anderson Kelliher's campaign for governor raised more than $254,000 and ended 2009 with $81,000 cash on hand.

"I'm grateful for the strong support I've received from Minnesotans across the state," Kelliher said. "All along I've said that I'm building a people-powered campaign to lead Minnesota on the road to recovery."

"Given the number of candidates and the short time frame we had, I'm thrilled with our numbers," campaign manager Jaime Tincher said. "Margaret raised nearly $80,000 in December alone. Going into 2010, she has tremendous momentum and grassroots support behind her as she works to earn the DFL endorsement."

More than 1400 people donated to the Margaret for Governor campaign, and 94 percent of those donors were Minnesotans.

Margaret made a $250 contribution to her campaign.
