Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak will officially kick off his campaign for governor on Sunday, December 6th. His Facebook page said the event will be held at 1pm at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis.
Rybak filed paperwork with the Campaign Finance Board earlier this month indicating his interest in a run for governor but the board said he should have filed the paperwork in May. The board said his campaign for mayor conducted a poll at that time that was designed to benefit a gubernatorial run not his reelection for mayor.
