Oberstar is the most chatty member of Minnesota’s delegation

The website Congress Speaks examined the proceedings and debates of the U.S. Congress in the 110th session (2007-2008) and counted how many words each member said.

In Minnesota, DFL Rep. Jim Oberstar spoke the most (70,039 words) followed by DFL Sen. Amy Klobuchar (53,051 words). Oberstar's most common word was transportation. Klobuchar's was country.

Nationally, Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas spoke the most of the members 257,274 words. J. Millender-McDonald of California spoke the least, just 13 words.
