Obama rally prompts special programming, GOP ads

Minnesota Public Radio News will provide special coverage of President Obama's Health Insurance Reform Rally Saturday in Minneapolis. Coverage starts at noon and will be hosted by Gary Eichten. He'll be joined in studio by Larry Jacobs, professor and director of the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute. MPR NewsQ.org will have special coverage as well.

Meanwhile, the Republican Party of Minnesota announced plans to run television advertisements on health care to coincide with President Obama's visit. State GOP Chairman Tony Sutton said the $25,000 broadcast television buy urges the president to slow down and develop a common-sense health care reform plan.
