Kelliher will make it official this week
Minnesota House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher, DFL Minneapolis, will officially launch her campaign for governor Wednesday.
Her announcement is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on the Anderson Family farm near Mankato. Her media advisory says a picnic is also planned.
Kelliher filed campaign finance paperwork a month ago. She's served six terms in the Minnesota House, including two and a half years as speaker. Kelliher has repeatedly said she does not plan to step down as speaker while running for governor.
There are 10 other Democrats who've filed paperwork to run for governor, with more expected to join the field.
