Bachmann to speak at Colorado conference

Congreswoman Michele Bachmann is scheduled speak at the Steamboat Institute's Inaugural Freedom Conference Aug. 29, in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

A news release issued today by the organization quoted Jennifer Schubert-Akin, the chair of the Steamboat Institute.

"We are delighted that Congresswoman Bachmann will join us to share her insights on current legislative trends, including health care reform," Schubert-Akin said. "As we gather in beautiful Steamboat Springs to discuss the issues facing our nation, it will be invaluable to have a fresh perspective from the Legislative Branch."

There was also a quote from Bachmann.

"It is an honor to be a part of the inaugural event for The Steamboat Institute," Bachmann said. "It's my hope that the discussions at the Freedom Conference will help to inspire us all to work towards reducing both wasteful government spending and the federal tax burden on Americans."

Other speakers include Congressman Mike Pence of Indiana, Grover Norquist and Michael Reagan.

The Steamboat Institute describes itself as an educational organization guided by the principles of limited government, lower taxes, free markets, strong national defense and individual rights and responsibilities.
