Another Coleman staffer leaves, campaign closes offices

Mark Drake, the senior spokesman for Republican Norm Coleman, is the latest staffer to leave the campaign. Coleman spokesman Tom Erickson said Drake is taking some time off before he starts his new job. He wouldn't say where Drake is going.

Meanwhile, Erickson also says the campaign closed their offices over the weekend. He said they made the move because their lease was up.

When asked if the move was "financial," Erickson referred questions to Coleman campaign manager Cullen Sheehan.

I'm waiting for a call back.

Here's a response from Sheehan:

We shut down the larger portion of our office because the lease was up and the large space was no longer needed. We still have campaign office space. In terms of staff, as we continue down this path fewer and fewer people besides attorneys are needed and if people have job opportunities we're not going to hold them back because of that.

Luke Friedrich, who also worked on Coleman's staff, left the campaign last week. He's now working for GOP Rep. Erik Paulsen.
