Gov. Pawlenty is in California today and tomorrow. He's attending the Republican Governor's Association Annual Conference. Pawlenty made a round of judicial appointments yesterday. He appointed Chris Dietzen, a Court of Appeals judge and Pawlenty's former campaign attorney, for the Minnesota Supreme Court. The Star Tribune, MPR, AP and the Pi Press have stories.

The governor will be back in town for Friday's February forecast. He is predicting that it will be "bad news."

The Legislative Auditor releases his investigative report this afternoon into the travel of MnDOT's emergency manager.
