The House just wrapped up a three hour debate on one of its budget bills. The give and take (like with all of the budget bills) has been spirited as members tried to get certain provisions on or off of the bill. As always, DFL House Majority Leader Tony Sertich was the final lawmaker to speak about the bill. He got up and said:

"This is a great bill for higher education and a great bill for the students and the future students of the state of Minnesota."

Here's the problem. Sertich was talking about the higher education budget bill. The House was considering the Jobs bill. Sertich stopped his speech after a few members told him he was talking about the wrong bill. A red faced Sertich then said:

"I'm sorry. Different speech."

Those Elvis hours will get to you. Up all night! Sleep all Day.
